- Where to find us?
Address: 7 rue Barri del Castel, Palaja
Between Toulouse and Narbonne, the Château de Palaja is located in the Greater Carcassonne area. Very easy to access, just 12 minutes from the motorway, 16 minutes from Carcassonne airport, and 13 minutes from Carcassonne train station.
From exit 23 (Toulouse) – 12 minutes:
After the toll booth, take the second exit on the right towards Limoux (D6161)
Keep left, then at the traffic lights, turn left towards Carcassonne (D118)
At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right towards La Cité (D6161)
Continue straight ahead, cross the Aude
Follow the D342, go over the motorway
At the Charlemagne roundabout, take the first right towards Palaja (D42)
At the entrance to Palaja, turn right at the roundabout towards Church
Go past the church, go under the ironwork footbridge, then turn left: you've arrived!
From exit 24 (Narbonne) – 12 minutes:
After the toll booth, head left towards Carcassonne La Cité (D6113)
Pass the Leclerc shopping center on your right
Take the following exit: Hospital Center / Castres-Mazamet
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Limoux – La Cité
Continue straight on the D6161, La Cité will be on your right
At the Charlemagne roundabout, take the 1st right towards Palaja (D42)
- I don't have a car and I want to go to the Château de Palaja, what should I do?
There are several options for getting around to you:

- Is there parking?
Yes, free parking is available in our private car park. - Are there charging stations for electric cars?
We have Green'UP 3.7kW electric charging stations. Bring your cable and ask at reception. - What's the benefit of booking directly and not through Booking.com?

- What payment methods are available?
We accept credit card payments on site, and we can also charge a card remotely (secure payment). We also accept bank transfers and checks, if arranged in advance.
- Do you accept ANCV checks?
Yes, we accept ANCV holiday vouchers.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and check-out from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- I plan to arrive late, what should I do?
I should call Cathy (+33 (0)6 63 69 88 32) beforehand to work out a solution together.
- I plan to leave very I'm arriving early, but I still want to have breakfast. Is there a solution?
Yes, Cathy can provide you with a breakfast basket, prepared the day before. - Are there any shops nearby?
Located in the heart of the village, you have all the amenities within walking distance, including a pharmacy, a grocery store, a hairdresser, a tobacconist, and two restaurants, including the one adjacent to our hotel, less than 5 km from the Cité de Carcassonne. - I use a wheelchair; is your establishment accessible?
A parking space right in front of the Château is reserved for people with reduced mobility. Please specify when booking that you would like a room on the ground floor for people with reduced mobility.
Comfort & equipment
- Do you have air conditioning? Heating?
Yes, our establishment is equipped with reversible air conditioning in each room and in the common areas.
- I need a coffee very early, or I drink tea several times a day. Do you have a kettle in the room?
As soon as you have breakfast, the hot drinks machine and kettle are freely accessible, day and night, in our breakfast room. You can enjoy the garden and the many cozy spaces.
- Is the pool heated?
No, it is at room temperature and therefore varies depending on the weather. But as a great alternative, we offer free access to the sauna if you book directly.
- What time is the fitness room available?
Free access 24/7
- Do you offer baby cots?
Yes, upon request when booking. We also have high chairs, a small bathtub, and a bottle warmer available, subject to availability.
- I'm arriving with a baby. Do you have a microwave available to heat their meal/bottle?
Upon prior request, we can provide a bottle warmer. Otherwise, Cathy is available to heat up your meal in the microwave in the hotel kitchen.
- I'm traveling with my baby who goes to bed early. How can I enjoy a meal together?
We are available to offer you an aperitif in the garden while your baby sleeps, and to serve you a sharing platter or a fresh plate as soon as you're ready (order before 6 p.m. for the big day from Cathy or Eric). Extend this special moment for two by enjoying our local ice creams.

- I'm arriving with a boat on a trailer, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, or a classic car. Where can I park?
Upon prior request to Cathy, we can accept, under certain conditions, parking in front of the building.
- I'm arriving with a valuable bicycle, golf clubs, or cases of wine. Can I store them somewhere other than in my car?

Breakfast & catering
- Do you offer gluten-free/lactose-free products for breakfast?
Yes, upon advance request.
- I would like to dine at the on-site restaurant “S comme…”. Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. As the restaurant is independent from the hotel, we have no visibility into their schedule. It is also open to guests from outside the hotel. We recommend calling Michael at +33 (0)6 59 86 69 72.
- I'm planning to arrive with my children for a few days. Can I have a picnic in your garden?
Yes, we have a dedicated area for this purpose. But we can also offer our "sharing boards" or fresh platters in the garden (order before 6 p.m. on the big day from Cathy or Eric).
- I'm traveling with my baby who goes to bed early. How can I enjoy a meal together?
We are available to offer you an aperitif in the garden while your baby sleeps, and to serve you a sharing board or a fresh platter as soon as you're ready (order before 6 p.m. on the big day from Cathy or Eric). Extend this special moment together by enjoying our local ice creams.

Activities on site and in the region
- What games are available in the garden?
To enhance your stay, we offer several outdoor games: Mölkky, pétanque, and ping-pong. The swimming pool awaits you, and you can play in the garden, roll around on the lawn, or fight with our swords. Ideal for an extended stay with children.
- Are there any activities in case of bad weather?
If the weather doesn't allow you to enjoy the garden, make yourself comfortable in our lounge and play board games, Connect 4, puzzles, or Mikado. Or browse Eric's private collection of over 2,500 comics, carefully selected for readers of all ages.
- Can we meet the estate's animals?
In the château's private grounds, children and adults alike can also meet Céraphine, our tortoise, as well as the chickens and two cats who live peacefully on the estate.

- I would like to book a massage. How do I go about it?

- Can we organize our wedding night at the Château?
Yes, we offer the option of having breakfast delivered to your room, to help you get your new life off to a smooth start. Book and pay in advance to Cathy so that everything is planned and all you have to do is enjoy the big day.
- Can the entire Château be privatized?
Yes, privatizing the Château de Palaja is possible and ideal for a family reunion, a small family gathering to celebrate an event, or a birthday. It's also suitable for business leaders who wish to welcome their team in a friendly, home-like atmosphere. Enjoy these moments of sharing; we'll take care of the rest.
