Let yourself be seduced by the remarkable biodiversity of Occitania and enjoy the protected natural areas.

Cathar Castles

Ready for an unforgettable Cathar tour? Born shortly after the year 1000, Catharism is a religious movement which was concentrated in the south of France. In Aude, Cathar castles such as Peyrepertusse, Queribus, Puilaurens or Termes witnessed the crusade between the Albigensians. Peyrepertusse, known as the "celestial Carcassonne" and Queribus, stand on summits and served as surveillance posts on the old border with Spain. These castles offer a fantastic panorama. They are worth it (1 hour walk) but allow you to have a view all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.

Wonderful villages

Minerve is built above the Gorges de la Cesse, just 1 hour from our 4-star hotel near Carcassonne. Classified among the "most beautiful villages in France", this village was a high point of the crusade against the Cathars. Stroll the streets, between cafes and restaurants and sit on a terrace above the gorges.

Our suggestion: Discover the old walkway and the underground route leading to the postern where a stele rests in memory of the Cathars.

Mirepoix, a medieval village, is 50 minutes from our beautiful hotel. Built in the 12th century, Mirepoix has preserved its typical half-timbered houses, made of wood and plaster. Don't miss the Monday market, under the halls.

The dinosaur museum

For a real journey through time, as a family, as a couple or with friends, we advise you to visit the Esperaza Dinosaur Museum, 50 km from our establishment. Unique in France, ideal for children and parents alike, this museum is located near an archaeological excavation site.

During your visit, you will explore the Cretaceous greenhouse, the evolution gallery, Tyrannosaurus space with its skeletons and full-size representations.

White water sports

In Aude, the Pyrénées Orientales and Hérault, are the most beautiful natural sites for outdoor activities in the Occitanie region.

Depending on the nautical base chosen, 25 minutes or 1 hour away, you can practice canyoning, canoeing, rafting, hydrospeed, canoraft, stand up paddle, caving, climbing, or archery. Thrill seekers, these activities are for you!

Free fall simulator

In Lezignan-Corbières, go to the Flyzone, indoor free fall simulator, from 5 years old.

A flight time twice as long as a parachute jump, an original and unusual gift!

Come live an original experience and discover the sensations of free fall without constraints.

The Galamus Gorges

An hour and 40 minutes from Palaja Castle, the natural and protected site of the Galamus Gorges will surprise you with its relief. The waters of the Agly River have carved out these cliffs to a height of 500 meters. Car parks located on each side of the entrance to the Galamus gorges allow you to visit the area on foot.

Our suggestion: take your walking shoes and go up for a drink at the troglodyte hermitage of Saint-Antoine de Galamus, carved into the wall.
