The history of the Château
13 years ago, Cathy and Eric decided to change their lives and retrain in the hotel industry. Leaving their senior management positions in international groups, they embarked on the renovation of the Palaja Castle, with the aim of reviving this 18th century family home and allowing as many people as possible to enjoy the sweetness of life in this haven of peace a few steps from the city of Carcassonne and a stone's throw from the Cathar castles.
Throughout the 3 and a half years of heavy renovation work, Eric has managed to combine old materials (tiles, fireplace, marble and wood) with more modern materials such as steel in order to blend this unique design admirably. in the stone walls of the Castle. Most of the furniture has been purchased, customized and / or manufactured by Eric. The old stables of the Château have also been renovated, in the same spirit, in order to accommodate the restaurant "S Comme", managed independently of the hotel.
